pCOe Offline
pCOe Offline
There is a communication problem with the controller
⇒ Fix;
- Check cable connections at J29 on pCOOEM+ for good conection of terminal block and wires.
- Check J3 on pCOe module for good connection of terminal block and wires.
- If any SGx groups are used and sensor not installed the error will show.
- Restart unit; turn off power for 3 mins to control circuit and compressor circuit.
Low Evap Temp
Low Evap Temp
Refrigerant Evap Temp is getting below brine temp and possibly creating ice.
⇒ Fix;
- Check antifreeze concentration.
- Check pumping is getting good appropriate flow.
- Check protection setting is set correctly. Installer Menu > Configuration > Protections; Minimum temperature should be set to the same or slightly above your measure antifreeze protection.
- In cooling, check Production Protection screen
- In Heating mode, check Brine Protection screen
- For water only set to 4°C or 39°F.
- Possible Refrigerant leak. See Low Evap Flow for other possiblities.
Call for further assistance.
Failed Outdoor sensor
Failed Outdoor sensor
If outdoor sensor has failed to operate or has a communication problem.
⇒ Fix;
- Measure R/C power to the sensor and verfiy it isn’t getting voltage above 27Vac.
- If using factory transformer, set primary power wires to +5% and O.
- If sensor not operational change the following.
- Heating or Cooling service to fixed temp in Installer > Configuration > Services > Heating
- Change StopT
- For Heating; User Menu > Heating, set StopT to anything above 1C.
- For Cooling; User Menu > Cooling, Set StopT to anything below -1C.
- Replace sensor after confirming power is less than 27Vac.
Low Evap Flow
Low Evap Flow
Verify Evap flow is suffient.
- In Heating = Check Source (Brine) side.
- In Cooling = Check Load (Production) Side.
⇒ Fix;
- If connection type is Direct with valves that have an opening delay use compressor delay. Installer Menu > Configuration > Protections > Compressor Delay; Default 0 mins. Use 1 min.
- All valves are closed when compressor is trying to run.
- Check if manual or motorized valve are closed.
- Check for Clogged filter
- Air bubles in circuit?
- Ice in heat exchanger?
- Is the circulator pump working correctly?
- Use manual Test to enable pump and set to 100%. Is wiring correct at PWM outputs AO1 (Source) or AO2 (Load). If using 0-10Vdc output AO6 (Source).
- Is the Heat Pump model correct? Installer Menu > Heat Pump Model; Verify the 6 digits are the same as the first 6 digits of the fabrication number on the nameplate of the unit.
- Check Wiring of EEV on pCOOEM+ controller at J12 VExp1 connection.
- Check wiring of suction sensor and wiring.
Call if further assistance is required.
pCOe Analog Input 1, 2 or 3
pCOe Analog Input 1 or 2 or 3
Control has input on temp groups but temp groups setup incorrect
- SG2 sensor is located at AI12
- SG3 sensor is located at AI13
- SG4 sensor is located at AI14
⇒ Fix;
- If using at Shunt groups (SGx) then a input sensor must be provided. 10kΩ thermistor.
- If sensor is wired check factory wiring from terminal block to controller that connections are good and connector is seated firmly.
- SG2 = AI12 to pCOOEM+ J26 / U12 & GND
- SG3 = AI13 to pCOe J9 / B1 & GND
- SG4 = AI14 to pCOe J9 / B2 & GND
Safety Stop
Safety Stop
PS and ESS connections open.
- ESS = External safety switches field installed pressure switch or flow switch.
- PS = Connects to high pressure switch on refrigerant circurt.
⇒ Fix;
- Check for continuity between the pins of ESS-T1 and PS-T1?
- If yes, check external safeties devices installed
- If no
- Jumper ESS terminals
Call if further assistance is required.
Warning
Warning
T memory is rewritten too often It has been written xxxx times, check variables in *.vvv files at addr: 2402694.
⇒ Fix;
- Changed transformer power from 230V to +5% to reduce 24V output to controller.
Clock Board Fault
Clock Board Fault
- Battery died in pCOOEM+. This is uncommon and should only be at startup.
⇒ Fix;
BR2330 battery needs to be replaced, CR version won’t work.
Requires disassembling PLC cover, 4 tabs in corner, Remove two circuit boards and standoffs. Recommend taking picture of internal connector to board so when reassembling controller it is done correctly.
